You’ve heard the thrill about every day, oily, dry, mixture, or sensitive skin types. But which one do you have?

It can exchange over the years. For instance, more youthful human beings are more likely than older parents to have a regular skin type.

What’s the difference? Your type depends on things such as:

  • Less elastic skin
  • More seen traces

Your skin can crack, peel, or emerge as itchy, indignant, or infected. If it’s very dry, it could become rough and scaly, specifically on the backs of your fingers, arms, and legs.

Dry skin may be caused or made worse by:

•          Your genes

•          Aging or hormonal changes

•          Weather such as wind, sun, or bloodless

•          Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from tanning beds

•          Indoor heating

•          Long, warm baths and showers

  • Heat or an excessive amount of humidity

To take care of oily skin:

  • Wash it no more than twice a day and after you sweat a lot.
  • Use a gentle cleanser and don’t scrub.
  • Don’t pick, pop, or squeeze pimples. They’ll take longer to heal.
  • Look for the word “noncomedogenic” on skincare products and cosmetics. This means it won’t clog pores.

Sensitive Skin Type

It can show up as:

  • Redness
  • Itching
  • Burning
  • Dryness

If your skin is touchy, attempt to find out what your triggers are so that you can keep away from them. There are many viable motives, however regularly it is in reaction to specific pores and skincare merchandise.

Vitiligo: Types, Symptoms | Skin Soul

Vitiligo is a long-term skin condition characterized by patches of the skin losing their
pigment. The patches of skin affected become white and usually have sharp margins. The hair from the skin may also become white. The inside of the mouth and nose may also be involved. Typically both sides of the body are affected. Often the patches begin on areas of skin that are exposed to the sun. It is more noticeable in people with dark skin. Vitiligo may result in psychological stress and those affected may be stigmatized. The exact cause of vitiligo is unknown. It is believed to be due to genetic susceptibility that is triggered by an environmental factor such that an autoimmune disease occurs Risk factors include a family history of the condition or other autoimmune diseases, such as hyperthyroidism, alopecia areata, and pernicious anemia. It is not contagious. Vitiligo is classified into two main types: segmental and non-segmental. Most cases are non-segmental, meaning they affect both sides; and in these cases, the affected area of the skin typically expands with time. About 10% of cases are segmental, meaning they mostly involve one side of the body; and in these cases, the affected area of the skin typically does not expand with time. Diagnosis can be confirmed by tissue biopsy.

Treatment options for pigmentation and skin rejuvenation.

Facial rejuvenation can effectively:

Reduce wrinkles.

Treat sun spots.

Tighten loose skin.

Improve skin tone and color.

Remove blotchiness.

Eliminate damaged blood vessels.

Hydra Jet exfoliation

A hydra jet spray using normal saline gently exfoliates the dead skin layer. Or a diamond tip microdermabrasion exfoliates the dead skin layer.

After which skin lightening products, vitamin c, hyaluronic acids etc are infused with a help a high-end infusion machine into the deeper layers of the skin, which restores the moisture, vitality, improves the blood circulation, reduces the fine line and wrinkles giving you a more hydrated radiant and youthful look.Perfect for an instant glow.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion also called as Skin polishing, is a simple and safe office procedure that helps in abrading the superficial skin layer ( stratum corneum).

This superficial abrasion is done with the help of aluminum oxide crystals or other abrasive substances that are blown onto the skin surface and then vacuumed off, using a single hand piece.

Also diamond tipped microdermabrasion is available at SKINSOUL where no crystals are required.

Mesotherapy

Infusion of essential mineral , vitamins, anti oxidant , skin brightening and skin tightening agent are infused into the deeper layer of the skin, which are generally lost due to everyday stress, pollution and lifestyle.

The penetration is hence enhanced, and the skin cells’ metabolic processes stimulated. The cells remove metabolic products more efficiently with the dead and dull cells from the surface of the skin and hence the skin seems more fresh. Its like spraying the skin with a magic elixir of life.

End result is a rejuvenated and smooth look with reduction in the fine lines and open pores. This procedure can be repeated every 15days to maintain the effect.

Chemical Peels

The chemical peel is a application of medicine that causes removal of the damaged outer layers of skin. This leads to skin regeneration and improves the appearance of the facial skin making it smooth and glowing.

Chemical peels can treat a variety of skin imperfections including blemishes, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, pigmentation and acne scars. There are three types of chemical peels including the phenol peel which is the strongest, the trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peel, and the alphahydroxy acid (AHA) peel which is the mildest. Candidates for the chemical peel include men and women who are looking to improve wrinkles and other blemishes of the facial skin.

The chemical peel can be particularly effective in treating fine wrinkles on the cheeks, forehead and eye area as well as vertical wrinkles around the mouth.

Chemical peels may produce reddening and peeling similar to a sunburn, which typically lasts a few days to several weeks, depending on the strength and depth of the peel.

Skin Lightening Laser Nd:Yag Q -switch Laser

Q Switched Nd: YAG (neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet) is a lasing medium that helps in targeting dermal pigmentation and melasma that is not amenable to treatment with depigmenting creams and chemical peels.

While the epidermal lesions respond best to 532 nm (frequency doubled NdYAG) the dermal lesions are better treated with 1064 nm.

Q-switched lasers are the gold standard for treatment of tattoos.

Freckles: Response is same as for lentigines. Although very effective, the risk of dyes pigmentation exists.

Lentigines: usually 1-2 sessions are enough to clear lentigines at 532 nm. However there is a risk of hypo/hyperpigmentation, so avoidance of sun exposure for 4-6 weeks post laser is very important.

Cafe-au lait macules: These again can be treated effectively in 1-2 sessions, but recurrence is common which requires multiple treatments.

Freckles: Response is same as for lentigines. Although very effective, risk of dyspigmentation exists.

Dermal pigmented lesions: Nevus of Ota, Nevus of Ito, Mongolian spots, Hori’s nevus, ABNOMs (acquired bilateral nevus of Ota like macules), and other flat pigmented birthmarks respond well at 1064 nm. Multiple sessions are usually required with the near-total clearing of the lesion in most cases.

Melasma: The dermal component of melasma can also be treated but recurrence is common and complete clearance is not seen.

Fading of the lesion will be noted over 8 weeks and Retreatment energy levels can be tailored depending on the clinical response observed. Treatment is to be repeated every 15 days For all skin rejuvenation services.

of skin and development of dry patches, and developing cracks in the hand skin.

natural moisturizers and protective layer of the skin. As much as hand hygiene is

Pigmentation on the face by Skin Soul

Unwanted pigmentation problems, like brown spots or splotchy skin, have many causes and can occur in all skin types. Fortunately, dermatologists have investigated a variety of skin-lightening methods and have developed many promising treatments. Depending on the severity and extent of the pigmentation problem, we at skinsoul can tailor a patient’s treatment based on his or her individual skin tone, and the treatment may include a single therapy or a combination of one to two therapies.

Sun damage causes pigmentation problems in light-skinned individuals

The main cause of dark spots in light-skinned individuals is sun damage. Years of sun exposure can result in spotted hyperpigmentation, a condition marked by increased pigment production that results in patchy skin color or a blotchy complexion. The extent of sun damage depends largely on a person’s skin color and his or her history of long-term or intense sun exposure.

Dark-skinned individuals more prone to hard-to-treat pigmentation problems

Two of the most common pigmentation problems that occur in people with darker skin tones are melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Melasma is a patchy brown discoloration that occurs on sun-exposed areas of the face and is commonly referred to as “the mask of pregnancy” because it often occurs during pregnancy. Those with light skin can develop melasma, but the condition is more common in dark skin. Because a deeper skin layer (the dermis) may be affected, melasma can be difficult to treat and requires a multifaceted treatment regimen.

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) is a condition in which an injury or inflammation to the skin causes increased pigment production. PIH occurs in darker-skinned individuals and, like melasma, can be difficult to treat when it involves a deeper skin layer. The most common cause of PIH is acne, but it also can result from psoriasis, a burn, or an injury.

It is important to address the underlying cause of the pigmentation problem. For example, to treat PIH due to acne

So if you are suffering from any kind of pigmentation – book a detailed consultation with dr sneh thadani, as she explains its very important to understand the cause and depth of pigmentation in order to treat and find suitable treatment and maintainance option for it.

Acne Scars Treatment At Skin Soul Clinic

If acne scars bother you, safe and effective treatment is available. Treatment can diminish acne scars that cause depressions in the skin. Treatment can also safely reduce raised acne scars. Many treatments are available.

Treatments include laser treatments, minor skin surgeries, chemical peels, and fillers

As we age, acne scars often become more noticeable because our skin loses collagen. The key to effective treatment is to select the best one for each scar type.

Before getting treatment for acne scars, it is important to clear your acne. New acne breakouts can lead to new acne scars. Having acne also means that your skin is inflamed. Inflammation reduces the effectiveness of treatment for acne scars.

Treatment for acne scars:

At skin soul procedures to minimize acne scars will be determined by your health care provider based on:

Your age, overall health, and medical history

The severity of the scar

Type of scar

Your tolerance for specific medications, procedures, or therapies

Your opinion or preference

Dermabrasion: Dermabrasion may be used to minimize small scars, minor skin surface irregularities, surgical scars, and acne scars. As the name implies, dermabrasion involves removing the top layers of skin with an electrical machine that abrades the skin. As the skin heals from the procedure, the surface appears smoother and fresher. You will typically need 5 to 7 days at home to recover. Microdermabrasion is a less invasive option typically performed in a series of treatments that do not require the same downtime.

Chemical peels Chemical peels are often used to minimize sun-damaged

Skin, irregular pigment, and superficial scars. The top layer of skin is removed with a chemical application to the skin. By removing the top layer, the skin regenerates, often improving its appearance.

Dermal filler injections. These are injected beneath the skin to replace the body’s natural collagen that has been lost. Injectable dermal fillers are generally used to treat wrinkles, scars, and facial lines. Most fillers are temporary, lasting about! year.

Laser resurfacing and light therapies. Laser resurfacing uses high-energy light to burn away damaged skin. Laser resurfacing may be used to minimize wrinkles and fine scars. A pulsed dye laser may be used to specifically treat raised acne scars. Additionally, for lighter-skinned people, intense pulsed light may be another treatment option.

Injections: Commonly referred to as intralesional injections. These involve injecting a medication, usually a steroid, directly into a raised scar, causing it to flatten and soften.

Cryotherapy: The purpose of this treatment is to freeze scar tissue, causing it to die and eventually fall off. Sometimes, this is used in combination with intralesional injections. One potential risk of cryotherapy, however, is lightening the skin, causing the treated area to be lighter than the surrounding skin.

Topical creams: Creams with retinoids or silicone can also help reduce the appearance of scars

Microneedling-RF with radiofrequency waves is another technology that can work for very deep and pitted acne scars. These treatments then trigger the body’s natural process, stimulating the growth of new, healthy tissue, which results in smooth, refreshed and scar free skin

So if acne scars are what is bothering you.
